BookWise - What we are about
"What do you like to read," people ask me. "I'm Bee, who in a perfect week, reads three or four books. "Black print on white paper," I say. And I have nothing at all against Amazon's eReader, the Kindle, or Kindle books which I download onto my iPod. At fifty and two decades more, I have enjoyed a long rich life of reading, so it is the quantity of black print on white paper which I offer as the facilitator of this confab on books.
As LifeWise is beamed at those who are fifty and beyond, let's talk for a while, though not exclusively, about works from the Twentieth Century, surely a golden period of literature. Remarkably most of the books I have treasured, some from my childhood, remain in print. Reviewing is well done and well covered in publications all around us, but not the game for us here in BookWise. For the craic let's recall some of the books of our times —books that go on and on.
